If your hotel is in Ancient Side or Side center, you won't need a car for dinner, the market, or watching the sunset. But if you're staying in Kumköy, Evrenseki, Sorgun, or Titreyengöl, you'll need to use a minibus or taxi to get to the center.

I only find renting a car in Side sensible if you're planning a sightseeing trip. This place is romantic but crowded. If you want to take photos, go a little before sunset. Everyone is trying to capture the same shot just as the sun is setting. In the early morning, it's less crowded and the light is softer.

Side Ocakbaşı Restaurant is a good option for those who want meat and kebabs. If you're planning a meat meal in a tourist center, you should consider the price level to be mid-to-high.

Zula Side is suitable for those who want a more social, bar-cafe atmosphere for the evening. It's a good option for evening drinks, light meals, and a lively environment.

Old Town Steakhouse is one of the tourist restaurants in ancient Side that stands out for its meat dishes. It has a good location, but you should adjust your price expectations accordingly.

Side Balık Evi and similar simpler fish restaurants can be a more casual alternative to harbor restaurants. When ordering seafood, it's a good idea to clarify the portion size, weight, and price beforehand.

In Side in 2026, you shouldn't underestimate the cost of dinner. For two, ordering fish, meze, and a main course can easily bring the bill close to 2.000-3.000 TL. A simpler meal might cost between 500-800 TL per person, but the cost increases rapidly when you add the harbor, seafood, and drinks.
