Increase in Travel from the UK to Turkey: Data for January-August 2024
Travel from the UK to abroad for the January-August period of 2024 has been announced and it has been seen that interest in Turkey has increased. According to Tourism Databank's analysis of UK Civil Aviation Authority data, travel from the UK to abroad by plane has increased by 8%, exceeding 172 million.

In terms of international travel from the UK, Spain ranked first as the most preferred destination with 30,1 million trips. Spain was followed by the USA, Italy, France ve Netherlands followed. Turkey increased by 15,8% during this period, exceeding 7,6 million visitors. This intense interest in Turkey once again showed that our country maintains its attractiveness in the UK market.
19% Increase in Istanbul and Antalya
On British visits to Turkey İstanbul ve Antalya showed remarkable growth, with both destinations growing by 19%. These cities continue to stand out as important hubs for tourists from the UK.
Rate Drop in Muğla
Muğla The region saw a 9% growth in visits from the UK, but its market share fell from 30% last year to 28% this year. This decline suggests that the region’s share of British tourists has fallen slightly.
As Turkey continues to grow in appeal to British tourists, Istanbul and Antalya stand out with their cultural and touristic diversity. This data shows that Turkey has a strong position in the UK market and continues to be a favourite among British tourists.
