Tripoli, located in the center of the Peloponnese peninsula in Greece, is the capital of the Arcadia region. With a population of approximately 30.000, the city sits at an altitude of 650 meters at the foot of Mount Mainalo. Having been settled since ancient times, Tripoli was also an important administrative center during the Ottoman period. Today, the city, where the Greek Orthodox population is predominantly concentrated, has Greek as its official language.
